My Gourami(s) may be pregnant I have researched a bit and know that they lay eggs and the daddy will take care of the nest. I have bought/set up a 5 gal tank to try and keep the babies. Do i take the mommy/daddy out of my 20 gal and put them into the 5 gal tank or should i just leave them in the bigger tank? Where should i be looking for the nest of eggs? I have been told it will look like a cluster of bubbles. I do have lots of plants/breeding grass in the 20 gal tank. Thanks, Nicole from Calif |
What kind of Gourami is it? If it's a betta or a dwarf, I'd put the male in the tank and wait until he makes a bubble nest, and then add the female. If he making a nest already? |
They are a light blue color. I'm not even sure where the nest is, as there are many plants in the tank. I was told to put a flat rock or stacking rocks as they like to lay the eggs there. Now that i think about it i can't tell a male from a female all i know is a few are "fat" like they are pregnant. Nicole |

Anyone? |
Nest of bubbles?? I was told that when my Gourami lays her eggs that it will look like a "nest of bubbles" but in my 20 gal tank i have the underground filter that has the clear tubes on the sides and these make bubbles on top of the tank, so where should i be looking for a "nest" of bubbles that could be eggs?? Also when i find them do i then take the daddy and the nest of eggs out and put them into my 5 gal tank i bought esp for keeping the babies safe from the other fish before they hatch? Of course i will take daddy out when they hatch. Now that i looked closer in the tank i think i may have 2 pregnant Gourami's. Thank you, |
