My blue tetras do not object to having angels as their neighbours!
I have diamond tetras, serpae tetras, buenos aires tetras, and mollies with a 4inch long 5 inch tall angelfish. The angel hasnt bugged any of my fish.
Well, actually, my angels do not bully any of my tetras as well. I have also neons and cardinals, plus glow lights and black neons. Maybe they are some kind of lazy angels?
I'm planning on having a tank with neon, rummy nose, and serpae tetras. I've been told an angelfish would bully the tetras and eventually as it got larger eat them. Is this true? I'd love to have some angels in my tank.
It depends on the size of the tetra and the temperament of your angels. Some people keep neons and angels together no problem, others have just bought a very expensive snack.
I'd worry about the serpae being too nippy for the angel's long, flowing fins.
Hmm, well the serpeas are going in no matter what. I might have to try an angel later, see what happens.
With Neons potentially lunch and serpaes potentially muggers, I'd skip the angels. If you want a cichlid in there, maybe flag acara or keyhole or rainbow would be the way to go.
Black (or black widow) tetras, serpae tetras and neon tetras will nip your angelfish's fins.
Rummynose, black phantom & diamond tetras, while small, will go along well with the angelfish. While smaller than the angels, they're too fast for the angels to reach.
Other tetras may not be that fast...
