Just a thought

I'm new to all of this, and have never done a saltwater tank. I have 20g, 10g, and 5g tanks in my garage. Can I do a 5g saltwater tank? That's the only one that is technically "mine," since my parents bought the other ones. If so, what are my options for it? Or just any ideas?

Can be done, but your only going to be able to keep a few corals and snails in there.

So no fish? Would a 10g be able to have any fish? I don't know if I have room for the 20g

A fish, thats about it. Once you put in the Live Rock and substrate, your only looking at about 7g of water.

Dang. Alright, thanks. I'll think about it. I know salt tanks can end up costing a lot, so I'm not sure if it's worth it, or if I can find a saltwater fish for 7 gallons of water
