hey everyone! I have a nice new 125 gallon tank and after some consideration, ive decided id like to have a community catfish tank. ive looked up all the ones i like and it seems that they would be compatible but id like a 2nd opinion because im new at catfish! heres what i want:
synodontis ocellifer cat
upside down cat
and a giraffe nosed cat
I also would like to have a rope fish, yabby crayfish and a pearl gouramie
are there any reasons why this might not work?
The glass cats will likely get snacked on.
by what? everything?
Hey there! Pretty jealous of this plan as I have recently fallen in love with catfish! :-D More research is still needed, big fish in big tanks takes a lot of planning. The glass cats are incompatible with the synos due to parameter issues, I think you are best off leaving them out.
I can point out now, that upside down cats are schooling fish (though often not thought of as such) and do better when they have some company. Rope fish as well should be kept in at least a trio as they tend to enjoy snuggling with each other- and be sure you know what you're getting into with these guys as they are huge trouble makers! :-)
thanks!!! I really only wanted the glass cats for the 'weird' effect. i mean really, how many fish can you see completely through right? haha Ill leave them out and that will givee me more room for the multiple rope fish and upside downs.
