Light question

Does the hoods glass splash guard reduce the amount of light received by the plants?

I would say only if you let the glass get really dirty or covered in algae. And I keep having the algae problem all the time? I clean the glass at least once a week.

Agree with Chris. But also yes, light travelling through even clear glass will be infracted some, but not sufficient for our purposes. One has to have a glass between water and light tube/bulb and fixture to avoid other more serious problems. So just clean it, at each weekly water change.;-)
