Java fern plantlets

My larger java fern which is in my puffer tank with just incandescent lighting produced several little plantlets. I took the plantlets out and put them in my 12 gallon which has about 2 watts per gallon of lighting. How long will it take these tiny little plantlets to get a decent size?

1 week to several months depending on conditions. Most likely about 3 weeks or so. Make sure not bury the rhizome one those tiny ones, tying them to a small piece of wood or other anchor will help them get plenty of nutrients and not cause the rhizome to rot.

It is best to leave them on the mother plant until they have 5-7 leaves and have a descent root system. I know it doesn't always work that way because the mother plant may lose the leaf they are on but is what has worked best for me in the past.
