kissing gourmai skittish
i bought my 2 kissing gouramis 2 weeks ago but ive noticed of late they are quite 'skittish' when i approach the tank, they seem to not like me 'viewing' them instead they hide behind things, was wondering what this could be caused from? ive checked PH n its fine
They are not used to you yet. My African knife took like 3 months before it would let me see it.
Jaysee is probably right - give them time to settle in and get to know you - imagine what they've just been through, from breeder to shop to your home - I'd be skittish, too! Spending time sitting quietly and still in front of the tank might help them become used to your presence a bit more quickly. . .
Also, how you approach the tank makes a big difference. Because of the refraction of light, you want to always approach from the front. If you walk up from the side, you will appear to appear out of no where.
Woah. Learn something new every day.
The wonderful world of physics :)
yes very true, ive been approaching from the front, very slowly, ever since ive changed my filter position and added a few more fish they have been alot more chilled out, swimming around n such
