- - enough rock?
Re: enough rock?
I think it will help to add another layer or two, possibly 3.

It looks good to me tho you could try adding tall plants to take up that space. It would make the tank look extremely attractive.

As long as the rock structure is sturdy so as not to tip over onto the fish, add as much as you can.
What kind of fish are you keeping or planning to keep in there? Something like African cichlids (is that what I see in the pic? It's hard to tell) would need about 3 times as much as I see in the pic, stacked almost to the top of the water level.
If you're worried about weight, don't be. Those tanks are made to hold more than you could ever possibly fit into it for weight, including water. My husband is head of tech support at AllGlass/Oceanic, and when I asked him how much weight a 55 gallon tank could hold, he laughed at me and said "a lot more than you could fit into it!" He also said that you could fill a tank to the top with solid gravel, and so long as it isn't all piled in one place or dropped into the tank, it would hold and still not be near it's breaking weight limit.

it would be helpful to know how many cichlids you have in that 55 gal.
it looks like it would be enough rock work but the fish might enjoy some more caves and such.

How soon are you planning to upgrade to a bigger tank? With all that in there it isn't going to take long before they outgrow a 55.
