Pics from our outing to Schlachtensee Schlachtensee is a little lake just outside of Berlin - we are spoiled with really lovely lakes with unspoiled green forests surrounding them, all within minutes on public transport. We didn't have our swimming gear with us but we dipped our feet in and found a few interesting things to snap pictures of. Sadly I only had my phone on me so the picture quality isn't so great. Not a great photo, but I saved this as an idea for a potential future aquascaping project... I really liked how the grass was naturally growing on the dead tree stump. http://i.imgur.com/oiQT8.jpg?1 Just as I was giving up on the search for life in the water, I saw a glimmering movement out the corner of my eye: a fish! http://i.imgur.com/tjKX3.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/sAJ06.jpg?1 A little greenish-yellowish fish, I have no idea what it is, but looked quite pretty. No idea what other kinds of fish inhabit that particular lake, but I've heard that meter-long catfish are known to inhabit lakes in this area. |
Hahaha I just searched some info on fish that live in this lake and came up with this German news article: Badeseen: Das Monster vom Schlachtensee - Berlin - Tagesspiegel Long story short, woman bit by massive catfish, left a 17 cm diameter wound. The females were in egg-laying season and are known to be potentially aggressive. |
I'm glad you translated that :) Nice pics. - thanks for sharing. |
