My Green spotted Puffer
 
Is always in the corner and hiding til night time. Is this normal? we have 4 Cichlids, 2 pelco's and 6 kuli loachs and him.

Not really normal but they aren't as aggressive as your others so they might be bulling him. FYI puffers eat invertebrates in the wild. I used to have a puffer myself not sure what breed though, it was 7 years ago. I kept him happy by using a quarantine tank as a pond snail breed tank and going to the LFS and taking their dead snails. I would drop a handfull of pond snails in evey week depending on his appetite and once in a while I would crack a big dead snail shell and toss them in. A puffer's beak is like a bird's it never stops growing so you need to give them their natural food or their Beak will get too long for them to eat. Puffers also eat shrimp, I never tried feeding them grocery store shrimp but I suppose it could work. Some breeds of aquarium shrimp eat snails too so if you go that route he will have competition for his food. Your loaches are also known for eating snails but it is not a 100% thing that they will
