Baby Dwarf Tear Lighting
I'm going to be getting a 36 gallon bow front. I will be using liquid co2 and I would like to grow a carpet of Baby Dwarf Tears. What lighting should I use and how many watts?
I have tried this plant twice and never had any problem growing it with ordinary fluorescents and HO bulbs, 2-3 watts per gallon. My trouble was infiltration of filamentous algae that made it impossible to sustain. I got potted plants from LiveAquaria that grew like weeds, almost doubling in size the first month. I used CO2 and EcoComplete as substrate. Then the algae showed up and I tried to keep the thing going for several months but finally pulled it up in frustration.
May you have better luck than I and only the green you desire. . .
If it were desirable to grow a carpet of filamentous algae, I could do that, no problem!
