Getting started with plants, need advice.

I currently have a 37g. African Cichlid tank. I want to get Java Fern and/or Wisteria. Will a Marineland Double Bright LED Light work for these?

I say yes for sure with the java fern, and likely Wisteria will be fine also. You'll have better luck if you dose with a fertilizer like Florish Comprehensive.

African rift lake cichlids will probably destroy your plants- The only ones I might try are Anubias and Java Fern, both tied to driftwood.

Floating plants might also work, or stem plants left floating.
Try Java moss too- it will probably be torn up, but each little piece can attach and grow on it's own. Just cover the filter intake.
