Just woke up this morning and looked at the skimmer and nothing was happening i mean the foam and all the dirty stuff.. Isn't it suppose to be in the collection cup? There was nothing in it, How long does it take for it to build up?? Or maybe my skimmer is a Peace of Sh%t :(

hi,iv'e got one in my nano tank and im kind of thinking the same as my other marine tanks skimmer collects a fair bit of protien!has yours got a little black rubber stopper to stop the water coming out where the protien should have collected?im not sure whether its meant to be left on or taken off!?
it does take a little while for the protien to build up.how much water has your tank got?

I took that rubber thing off so the water can drain out of the top. Just cut a peace of the sponge and stick it by the hole where the water drains out so no foam gets out.

I got a 12 G nano.

my ones not working properly at the mo,the water rises so quickly inside that it comes out of the little holes in the top!i don't know y its started doin that all of a sudden, but i have been cleaning all of the dirt out of it about 2 times a month so it must be doing its job!
