Hello

Hello, people of Fish Forum. Nice to be here, and I hope to get to know you all soon. I only recently became truly interested in fish, but I do have a history with them. When I was a kid we had goldfish and some small silvery-bronze fish that I always thought were some plain guppies. Apparently I was wrong. Anyway, my dad has an extensive background with tropical fish, which I'm surprised never rubbed off on me. My personal experience with fish started when a friend of mine had to give up a goldfish and a betta for reasons I can't remember, and I took them in.

But only just recently have I really grown an interest in keeping fish. My fish community is relatively new. It started out as a cookie jar fish bowl with five rosy red minnows, most commonly sold as feeder fish. This shows you right off the bat I'm a weirdo. xP Anyway, I had those for about a month, when I started thinking about getting more fish. What I was using couldn't support anymore fish, so I figured I'd get the whole package with filter and everything. I regularly cleaned out my old tank, so the fish always had clean water, but I knew that with anything bigger that it would be a huge chore, so I got a ten gallon that came with a filter and lighting.

And in the span of a few short months, I have become a huge fish enthusiast. It comes with maintenance, but so does every other pet you can think of. Dogs need washing and walking, cats... well, not so much unless their inside, then there's the litterbox. But any maintenance is well worth it for me. I enjoy just sitting and watching them go about their routines, the cories scour the bottom for food, and the rest swim about peacefully. It's quite relaxing. =)

I think I started rambling... Anyway, that's my fish story. It's nice to be here.

Hello Zule, and welcome to the forum. It's great that you've become so interested in fish after all that time. Love your avatar by the way :)

Nice to meet you.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your cories. They are my favourite fish. :)

Thanks everyone. ^^

The cories are definitely my favorite. I'd have more catfish, but I don't have a big enough tank to support anything but a small school of cories. But someday when I'm rich and I have the space, I'll have a nice big aquarium with a nice house to put it in.
