First of all I want to thank everyone in this forum for all yr help in the past I have learned alot. I know what the gravid spot is..but I am kind of freaking out because I have a blue platy who seems to be gravid ALL the time..she has had a few litters as I have some fry in the tank..is she saving them to deliver at her leisure?? I know dumb question ..the only thing I can think of is it these so called sperm packets that they have once the have mated..I am stumped and it is big bc it fills half her belly!! Anything would help thanks alot u guys rock..

ps: I know that they can have them days apart but I haven't seen any signs of her giving birth..

I know that some fish show the gravid spot all the time but it gets larger when they are pregnant. Three of my female Guppys and one of my platy have a gravid spot that never goes away and none of them have given birth. So it shouldn't be anything to worry about.

that was good advice however in my experience with platys once they have there batch they are done until next time, however my blue one has been gravid and squared off for a while making me think they are stuck. been thinking about putting her in a breeder box even though I really don't believe in doing that bc it stresses them out..I may try and watch and see what happens any other ideas would be gd..thx
