Can heater burn live plants?
Might be a silly question : (
Can my aquarium heater burn my live plants if they are too close to each other?
That's what I figured....thanks!
How close does it have to be to burn? Or does it matter if it touches it or not?
It would be weird saying 'Darn it, my aquarium plants caught fire again!! Better get some water to put it out'.
Oh wait . . .
If i can aquascape it thus, i try to get a tallish chunk of wood in front of a heater, creating the impression of a standing tree trunk. This covers the heater from sight, but leaves space around it, without using plants for this.
Can you buy heater guards?
you could probably make a heater guard out of a piece of PVC pipe.
I also have an Eheim Professional canister filter that has the heater built into the bottom of it so there is no heater in the tank.
