question on vallisneria..
i have some contortion vals that have sent plenty of runners over the last 6-7 months and i have finally decided to relocate some of them. That meant cutting them off there little vine or whatever you call it. My question is once it is cut off and relocated will the one i relocated eventually send runners? The root systems are good on the ones i relocated. It would really suck if they didnt send off runners.
Yes. Each individual plant will send out a runner if it is separated and planted on its own.
Thanks, should have done this a long time ago.

I move excess Val to other tanks. I usually snip of a string and plant the while string.
Should I be separating each plant?
Does Val grow longer under weak or strong light?
Many plants will grow taller with less intense light. I don't have very good luck with Vallisneria because my water is very soft. It is struggling, and this is more likely due to the water than light.
