NEED HELP FAST WITH A RED CLAWED CRAB
OK so I a red devil cichlid he pulled off the claws and 1 leg off the crab, im worried hes dying hes still alive and covered in a fuzz so I yanked him out of that tank and threw him in my feeder fish tank for my Oscars what can i do for him or do I just boil him up to put him out of his misery?????????????????????????
Thanks for any help
Welcome to Fishforum.com.
I'd use clove oil as a way to euthanise him. Sorry about your situation.:blueworry:
I don't think that losing 2 claws and one leg is gonna be the end of the crab. Many keepers will actually remove the claws of their crabs or large shrimp to prvent them from eating their fish. Make sure he stays in a clean and healthy tank. If he is still eating and acting pretty much normal then there shouldn't be a worry about him recovering.
I have seen Yabbie and red lobster come back from losing both claws and 2 or more legs form other keepers I know so they are resiliant little critters.
I don't know of anythng to use except for maybe Melafix because it is a crustacean and most of meds will likely kill it.
