Is my danio sick?
I've had a small school of Zebra Danios for some time now. These seem like the toughest fish ever; none of them have ever gotten sick or died. Around chow time, the whole school is at the surface, but usually they chase each other around the aquarium or dart around up top. However, the smallest guy has been hanging out in one spot, at the top in a bunch of hornwort, for the past few days. There are no visible signs of illness but he always faces the same direction and tries to stay in one place. He still eats regularly and will swim around a bit if one of the other Danios bugs him, but otherwise he's pretty much motionless. Anyone else ever seen this behavior? Should I be worried?
Re: Is my danio sick?
Hmm I guess that could be the case. The fish in question is definitely the smallest of the bunch and is chased around more often than he does the chasing. I guess I should just be on the lookout for other problems.
do you know if it is a male or a female? i have some danios and they are pretty active, but when i first got them they werent too active, but now they are great and have fry now. if it still eats than give it time and see if its behavior changes
