just bought a Cream Monti with Purple tips
 

Bought one of these the other day from my lfs and Curious why it hasnt come out of its shell..?? My tank has been established for well over 2 years and i buy all my saltwater from the same fs.. Any ideas why it has exfoiliated or sprouted out of it shell, not sure what its called??

Can you post a picture? Have you checked your water params, especially nitrate and calcium? What size tank and what type of lighting are you using? What other animals are in the tank?

It is also possible that the change in conditions has affected it. You might want to call the LFS and find out what their water params, temp, and lighting were wherever it was being kept at the store. Compare theirs to yours, look for big differences in anything...

i've never seen a cream monti.it may have been bleached.anyway you may want to test alkalinity,ph,calcium,magnesiun.my lfs tests for free
