My vote goes to java fern. I'm pretty sure of this...

def java fern, no doubt at all.

left in pic 1 is a portion of the leaf, and next to it is the baby java fern plant lets that grow out of the leaves.

I thought it was that too, but it hasn't grown much (just got a bit greener and better looking edges) and I thought they were fast growers so I forgot about that. How can I make it grow faster and tying it to a rock is okay, right?

I think it's a java fern also. Java ferns are slow growers...java moss is a fast grower.

I pulled about 10 of these suckers off one of my Java Ferns and planted them around ... they are terribly slow growing! The main plant has done quite a bit of growth over the last 6 months, but the babies which are ~4-5 months old still look about the same. Still alive, but hardly growing at all.

Yes, tying to a rock or driftwood is the way to go. If you plant, just make sure not to bury the rhizome. You can see a tiny rhizome developing on the one little plant already.

I'll tie it to a rock my friend gave me. Not that she give me rocks all the time (all that in was is the cavity her brain is supposed to be in) she just live by a river.

Agree on Java Fern. This is a slow growing plant, check the profile.
