Needing help for running multiple tanks
I'm wanting to set-up like 6 20 gallon tanks, on the same filteration, 5 tanks have a hole drilled out at the top of the tank, and one has holes drilled at the top and bottom. Anyone have any ideas??
Welcome to TFK and the forums first of all
The holes are for bulkheads, the ones in the bottom for draining the water, the ones in the sides possibly either for return or for water changes.
You will need to get a bulkhead for the size of the hole you have, the size of the hole is a lot larger than the size of the bulkhead you will need. Once you have the bulkheads you would then connect PVC piping or plastic tubing to the bulkhead.
These tanks would be used in a sump setup, where water will drain from the main tank into another tank underneath.
If you dont intend on using them this way, then you can have glass cut for the holes and simply silicone or glue them in place.
Setting them all up on the filtration is going to require a powerful pump and also a large tank or container underneath all the tanks. The total flow from all the overflows would need to be worked out, the height the water is pumping back to the tanks would determine what size pump you will need.
The total volume of water coming from the overflows needs to be safely accumulated in a large enough container until the siphons stop. I would suggest if you want to run them all on the same filtration that you look into building a massive WET/DRY tower filter. It would require another pump though to get all the water into the system.
Why also do you want them all on the same filtration? If one tank becomes infected then you risk spreading that infection to all the other tanks.
I moved the thread as well to "freshwater equipment" as you posted it in the article section, which is reserved for articles :-)
