ive just moved my puffers back to there 15 gallon and after only 2 weeks theres a dense green fuzz on everything its not like blanket weed or any of the strandlike algea it disintergrates as i touch it like green smoke the nitrates/ammo/nitrite levels are very low .......whats causing this"green smoke" to grow its making a nicly planted setup look a horriffic mess
It is an algae. You nutrient level is high. There is nothing in the tank to compete with the algae for food. There are many causes like too much light, overfeeding.....You know all of that stuff. Adjust accordingly.
the light levels are certainly high overfeeding is not an issue the puffers are fed exclusively on live food but there waste is certainly high protein would the inroduction of more plantlife "outcompete" it i walso want to try ottos again would they feed on this stuff?
