Can I use this sand?

Hi guys!

I'm setting up a new fish tank and I'm looking for some white sand to use as a substrate.
I found this: 75-150 GLASS BEAD DRY OR AQUA BLASTING SAND SHOT 25KG | eBay

Is this the white blasting sand that is used in aquariums or something else? Maybe I should ask the seller :-?

Sounds like sand blast sand. I dont know if it'll work. Most people say pool filter sand is best all around sand.

No. you cannot use this in your aquarium, it is extremely rough sand and will harm your fish.

As mentioned it is sand used for sand blasting and as such is highly abrasive and rough.

Play sand is by far the better option.

I agree, play sand is by far a better choice over sand blasting sand. However, I feel the same about pool filter sand and play sand. I've tried a few brands of pool filter sand and they are all fantastic. I've tried a few brands of play sand and threw them all out. They either didn't look nice in the tank or were too sharp. Maybe there are good brands of play sand out there..

Quikrete Playsand is a good brand.

Agtree with previous posts, but have a queston: why do you want white sand? This is not good for most fish.

Byron.
