Guppy Help!

I bought 3 guppies from my lfs yesterday and on my was home one of them started giving birth!! The male guppy ate most of them but I saved 8. The next day I went to feed the adult and fry but the mom was dead! She still had a gravid spot but her stomach was small. Does anyone have any idea how she died?? The two other guppies are fine and so is the fry.

which tank was she put in? whats the ratio for the 3 guppies.2 males 1 female or 2 females and1 male?

She was put in the 1 gallon to continue having her babies over night. 2 Females - 1 Male

i presume she was alone in the 1 gallon.i think it could be due to stress.was there a filter?

There was not a filter, it was a temporary thing to keep her in while the fry where born.

were there at least an air stone?

There wasn't an air stone. She ate though.

well i guess you now know why she died.lack of oxygen and stress and possible water issues

Thanks for clearing things up for me 6 of her fry are still alive and healthy and I have a batch of platy fry that is due in a few days. Thanks!

you might wanna atleast add a small filter that can't suck the babies in or at least a small air stone for the babies
