Removing silver mirror paint from back of tank?

Got a new tank today, and its got a mirror on the back..I kinda hate it, and was wondering how i should remove it?

I want a black background...

Inside or outside tank?

I'm assuming its painted on, if so use a razor blade to gently peel it off, might take awhile

That's what I was hoping I wouldn't have to do!
It's on the back...

What type of paint should I use? I've heard krylon? Since its the back, if I put a bag and tape off the top, could I fill it up the same day?

Mirror background?! Weird.
Seems like it would stress the fish out.
I'm going to try a clear matte finish on my next tank. Basically, the background will just be blurry.
