Opinions on this filter??
This is a filter from an aqueon 5 gallon mini-bow desktop aquarium. It sits in a permanent holder which is built into the side of the tank. Question is do you think this filter will oxygenate the water adequetly? The water is sucked up and then "very lightly" spilled over the top of a flat-laying filter. The water then exits the filter underwater. My question is that there is very little water agitation because the water spills gently over the filter and doesn't directly hit smooth water and I was wondering if this is sufficient. If you lower water level in the tank, the filter itself isn't submerged and the spout pouring over the top only covers about a .25 cents piece of the filter. Water flow isn't adjustable, then again it is only a 5 gallon. Thoughts appreciated!:-D
I would suggest you add live plants to provide oxygen. If not, you may want to consider an airpump. It might depend on how many fish you are considering. With one betta, you might not need to do anything.
See what others say :)
I don't think there is a problem. If you feel nervous about it, keep your water level a tad lower, that will allow more oxygen to hit your water.
