Freshwater or marine
I have just acquired a trigon 190 tank (second hand) owners before me used it as a tank for a snake and thus i have had to buy a new filter (aqua one 1250) and a new light (T5 high lite) before I go any further with the set up I did not know if I should go for tropical or marine, any ideas and do I need much more equipment for either one.
freshwater tank will be easier and less expensive to set up and maintain. is this your first tank? :)
You could say yes although dabbled a bit over the years and this time I want to give a lot more into making sure I have everything right
just looked up that tank.. very nice.
thats a good start to making sure you have everything right. plenty of good info out there and very knowledgeable people on this forum if you have specific questions.
I would go freshwater. It is more difficult to acquire more marine supplies, and the initial cycle (in order to have your tank ready for fish) takes a very long time with saltwater. Took my old roommate several months compared to a week or two with freshwater.
Freshwater stingrays <3 all dreams aside I prefer freshwater because its more forgiving on your wallet and like someone else mentioned its a lot easier to find what your looking for.
