Cycling a 29g using an 8 gallon?

is it possible to use the water taken from my 8 gallon from water changes and put it in my 29 gallon to help the cycling process ?
thanks
i havnt filled my 29g up fully so there is still abit of room to add extra water

i havent used water from my 10g for my 29, but i have used gravel. Spread some on the ground and put some in a sock hanging in the filter (two places bacteria reside) ive also been leaving the light on and bumped the heat higher (as bacteria do better with temperature is high) and make sure to keep it aerated n whatnot. Shouldnt have any problems with water...assuming you dont have any diseases in your tank

:)

im not sure about spreading the other colour for my 29g im going for a more sopisticated look (black and gray) where as my 8g is colourful and they are both different sizes i may try the sock idea :D
hopefully there is no diseases in my 8 gallon, oh and my light isint working either  but we are going to fix that soon.
thanks again :D
