will this work? well, so far i have seven albino tiger barbs, an angelfish, and one teeny pleco in my 55 gallon tank. no problems at all with compatability amongst these fish (so far, anyway)... i was thinking it would be nice to have a few livebearers in the tank, if there were any that would get along with the current inhabitants. i haven't read much about livebearers so i was just wanting someone's opinion :D thanks! |
hi i have got guppys and platys in with my barbs,if that's any help. :) |
Platies would probably work the best. Guppies would be the next choice. Be careful, both breed a lot, and they can have a lot of babies. |
barbs love fry. verrrrrrryyyyyy tasty  |

lol yum :) |
I would advise not to get any small fish like guppies and neon tetra's they would get eaten by your angelfish when they grow bigger. As you should see by my signature i have a variety of fish in my tank. |
It should be fine but there is a lot of luck that goes into the behavior of tiger barbs. I had a school of 8 tigers that ended up killing all of my neon and phantom tetras, while I have seen other people with a school of 8 tigers that don't bother any other fish. I didn't have any live bearers at the time but I assume they would've gone after any small fish. Just keep an eye out and be ready to intervene if problems arise. Hope your tigers aren't super mean like the ones I had were. Mine were also regular and green tigers, so the albinos may have a different personality. |
Try it but just be careful. Mosy probably it will work but there might be some nipping with the barbs. I wouldn't wrry aout too much fry - I'm sure the angel and barbs will take care of them! |
