Microrasboras

Does anyone have a list of them so I can try and find some other species that I can get a group of 8-10 for a 10 gallon? Celestial Pearl Danios/Galaxy Rasboras are $10 each at my LFS so they are kinda out of the question unless I want to buy 2 of them a month.

Also, if anyone has a link to pictures of them and some general size information it would also be appreciated.

Have you tried Sawbwa resplendens, Chris?

A tetra huh. Don't know if I want them again but then again all I have had was neons and they were boring even in a school of 15+. That I still want something that I can try to breed fairly easily if I want to.

Here are the ones I have found. Just need to find out if my LFS carries them now:
phoeniz rasbora
Sparrow rasbora
Boraras maculatus
Chili Rasboras
Scarlet Badis

I would google them all to see if they lay eggs and are easily bred in aquaria but I only have so many hours in a month.

See this is why I hate searching for fish I know nothing about. The first 6 hits I got listed them with tetras and not rasboras. Cool looking one though. Will have to add them to the list to see if my LFS can get them also.

$10 each is a good price considering that $6.50-$7.50 is wholesale for galaxies. I think that (6)bucktooth tetras would be nice. Quite coloful and very active. Although my favorite rasbora is the galaxy rasbora, I still have a soft spot in my heart for harlies.

Any specific ones you like Wolf? I want something with some color so thatis why I am thinking the CPD but I have found many others that have good color also.

One more thing, will Rasboras school together if they are different species? Not that I will be getting different species, I was just curious.

It's possible, Chris. I find it funny when the harlequin and hengeli rasboras shoal togetheras they have similar color patterns except the hengelis have a fine gold line above their triangular black patch and are slimmer in comparison to the harlies.
