I have six young (Unsexed) P. pulcher coming in the mail and I would like some advice on what's best to keep them healthy. Years ago I kept them on freeze dried tubiflex and a few tropical flakes. And being very ignorant, I sometimes gave them live baby wild guppies. My water is a little hard, but the guy I am buying these guys from has similar water..he's 100 miles away. So will frozen bloodworms and frozen daphnia mainly be a good start? I have brine shrimp working now. If I can get a pair out of these guys can I breed them? They are F1 from wild. A little help?
First of all, why are you purchasing fish that you have not researched before buying. One should always research about care and requirements before purchasing.
They will eat almost anything but need a varied diet of flakes, pellets, brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms with the occasional treat of zucchini, lettuce and peas thrown in. Make sure at least some of the food sinks or you weight it down as they are natural bottom dwellers.
Thanks Taz... yeh, I've been reading and scanning quite a bit. I think sometimes some up to date advice from someone who has "been there more" is good research. But?.. Yes, this is the first time I've bought kribs this young.
