dwarf gourami question
do dwarf gouramis eat algae? i bought a pair recently and they are always sucking on the leaves of some of my real and artificial plants, and i have a moss ball that they nibble on as well.... would they eat sea weed or veggies if i offerred it to them? as a side note they are really cute and i like their personality! can't believe i never tried them out before!
Gouramis thrive on a well balanced diet. This diet should include daphnia, bloodworms, brine shrimp, tubifex worms all of which can be frozen, freeze-dried or live, vegetable matter, which can be flake or fresh, and the staple should be a quality basic flake food. Care should be taken not to overfeed bloodworms, daphnia, brine shrimp, or tubifex as the may cause constipation and bloat. These should be fed 2-3 times per week maximum.
Mine doesn't seem to eat algae. I have to agree with you though that they are great little fish. I love mine. He is a perfect addition to my tank.
I have 2 blue sunset gouramis. i have to say gouramis always come in different colours and sizes which make them really nice looking. By the way are gouramis territorial or aggressive? at feeding time one of my gourami "attack" (chase) the other gourami and attack the other fish. is this normal?
