Not fish fry..SHRIMP fry? Any advice, help?
Id like some advice on shrimp fry, but first, ill tell you my set up.
I have a ten gallon community tank with a betta, ten ghost shrimp, two mystery snails and a betta fish. Theres a 10 gallon canister filter in there. The betta doesnt react to the shrimp at all, doesnt care that their there.
But he is the reason i dont want to breed in the ten gallon. Shrimp may not get him eating, but fry might! So I have a 2.5 gallon 'maternity tank' for berried females, with a sponge filter and a air stone.
When thier eggs turn clear and i can see eyes, i put them in my Fry Bowl, which is 1.5 gallon fish bowl, with an air stone.
All of my tanks have pieces of marimo balls in them.
My questions are, should i keep the airstone in the fry bowl? I do two w/c daily, about a third of the water. Does that give them enough oxygen in the water? Is the flow of the air stone too much for them?
What did you feed them?
I have algea based fish food that i ground up and added to water, green marine algea that i have growing in other water bottles, and i am growing infusiora with peices of cucumber. Its five days old, is slightly cloudy, and hasn't cleared up or turned pink yet. How long does this take?
I have a separate maternity tank and fry tank, because my last two clutches of babies were eaten by a mommy who had just molted.
