Condensation?

I've got a 2.5 gallon tank from Petsmart with a filter and heater in it, but when I put the glass top on the aquarium water always condense at the top. Is that normal? Will it harm my fish in any way?

Its just water splashing from the filter, it will not harm your fish.

is it one of those "goldys home" setups there great value i use one for fry bit small for anything else

That is from water evaporation hitting the top of your tank and condensing into water.
This is normal.
