is my tank turning into the loveshack?
i have noticed that whenever i feed live foods to my fish in my 30 gallon, they all exhibit odd behavior;
specifically my roseline danios begin to circle around eachother non stop for a while. sometimes one of them nips at the other one's tail a little. if i don't feed live foods, they are perfectly calm and get along well. someone told me live foods can trigger spawning, could it be that they are trying to spawn??

Many breeders use live/frozen foods to trigger/condition fish for breeding. I think that it is likely some sort of prespawn ritual that is triggers in the anticipation of more live food, when they don't get it, the posturing stops.

so if i isolated them and fed them more live foods, do you think i might be able to breed them? i am not interested in breeding fish- but these i might like to since i can't find any more of them to purchase.

From what I understand Danios don't need any special encouragement. You might have actually had many spawns and not even known it as the eggs would have been scattered aorund the tank and maybe eaten before you ever saw them. If you want to breed them then get them a seperate tank, cycle it with large gravel or a spawning grate and you should have plenty of them in short order.
