my tank good anough?
My tank It's around 20 Gallons, wich aggesive Cichlid's can I put in the aquarium?
My tank are Panoramic one, fits:
80 cm long,
40 cm Height
29 cm Small width
35 cm Long width
Right now, I got small tropical fish's and few small cichlid's and live plant's but I hate this...
I'd alway's like aggresive big Cichlids like Tillapia Zilli, Oscar, Green Terror, Texas and even the smaller lake Malawi like Ice Blue, Demasoni, Peacock sunshine, Electric Yellow...
Right now, I got on my tank:
1 female Goppy,
2 Ram cichlid,
2 Skirt Tetra,
1 betta fish,
1 Flying Fox,
1 Ghost Glasses Cat,
2 Black Kuhlli Loach and 1 tigger snail and 3 Anubias Plant's.
So, the question again. wich large aggresive Cichlid's can I put on my tank?
Can I bring Few littel wild Tillapia Zilli [not longer then 4 cm] and let them live there?
or just to bring few littel wild Tillapia and wait until couple will be created and the other fish's will back to the lake?
Or I can to bring smaller Malawi fish's like demasoni and electrick yellow?
I get saw 20 gallons mixed tank with group of Tiger Barb, Rosy Tetra and Electrick Yellow.
I can bring Electrick Yellow to my tank? [With more Fast and larg tetra's]
If you want big aggressive cichlids, then you need a large tank to keep them in. Large and/or aggressive fish in small tanks is not conducive to long term success. Also, you would not be able to keep your current fish without jeopardizing their well being.
I think a single convict would be the largest and most aggressive cichlid you could put in there, while at the same time considering the fish's needs.
I can put with large and fast Tetra's Electric Yellow?
or just Breeding Aquarium for wild Tillapia Zilli?
Small tanks should be stocked with small fish, and 20 gallons is pretty small.
Hello and welcome to TFK,
I have to say, what your trying to achieve may not really be suitable. Like Jaysee mentioned 20gallons is small. This fish you want will just not fit. Lets take the Oscar fish for example.. Just one of those on its own needs a tank size of at least 75gallons according to the profile in the freshwater profiles section of this website top left of the screen.
most of those aggressive cichlids once they reached a certain size would just swallow those other fish you currently have in your aquarium. This may be the result your after, as you mention you hate your current set up.
Agressive cichlids, from what I know about them, require a particular set up, that creates the environment for them to thrive. One of the most important being tank size.
I think maybe some more research is needed, and/or a much bigger tank. your already pretty heavily stocked in your 20 gallon, and are not really providing the best situation for some of the fish in there. for example, the glass catfish should be in groups of 6 or more etc.
Others might tell you different, this is why this forum is so great. lots of ideas and opinions and you can pick and choose what advice you take on board.
All the best
Tilapia a poor person's fish LOL..
I'd choose a zebra convict .
Welcome to the forum first of all. :-)
No African Cichlids ie yellow labs can be kept in that size tank. In fact no large fish can, it is too small.
The only cichlids you can actually keep in there are small shell dwellers from Lake Tanganyika such as Neolamprologus brichardi.
Minimum tank size for anything big and aggressive is 75g.
75g Its for Self america fish's.
The Minimum of lake Malwai its 50g?
or 75g too?
Can I just put Big Flower Horn [25-30 CM]?
I think he got enough space to be there, my tank long size its 80 cm and the flower horn dont need any space to grow-up right now, he on the maximum size.
