Filter and Tank cleaning and some other qs

Hey,

1.) How do i clean a filter with carbon and a sponge in?

2.) I got some new carbon do i put it in the little basket after washing it?

3.) Could I use keyboard keys as "gravel" if they where disinfected and rinsed?

4.) The filter needs cleaning at least once every 1-2 weeks is this normal?

All I can think of.

Thanks.

1) simply remove the carbon and wash out the spongs in tank water. No need to replace the carbon unless you want to or are removing medications or have very bad odor from the tnak.
2) Only if you want to or need to, not needed in a healthy aquarium.
3)Key board keys have some pretty sharp edges so I would not use them.
4) Cleaning the filter every week is pretty normal. I clean mine every week when I do a water change. I squeeze the sponges in the old tank water to get the majority of the gunk out.
