Dwarf Platies???
 

So I was at my LFS a few days ago and saw these platies labeled "Dwarf Platies" (the most adorable little things). They were just red, but they might come in more varieties. They were just little stout platies. I did some research on them and can't really find much on them. I did hear a rumor that they are stunted though. Does anybody else have any experience or info on them? Thanks!

I've never heard of a "Dwarf Platy" before. From what little research I just did, they look like balloon belly platy (which I've also never heard of). Just guessing here, but your "dwarf platy" might either be a genetic alteration/hybridization, or perhaps a regular Platy with a birth defect.

try looking for coral red platy. is that them?

They probably have a stunted growth like you said.

I have a few fry that are 2 months old and 1/4'' long. I think they are stunted from being raised in a cycling tank. Deep red color.

I saw a platy in a LFS not long ago that was unusally short from head to tail. Not overly fat, but cute body shape, I thought it was adorable. I was going to buy it, then noticed it was blind in one eye. The eye was completely white, and not wanting to take a chance on it being sick (I wouldn't have minded just a blind eye) I bought another one.
