Funny Snail issue

So I was at my desk reading when I saw something in the corner of my eye shoot up in my tank. When I got closer my mystery snail was floating. He floated for hours until I think the air must have come out and then he went back to the bottom.

How did air get in him if he is at the bottom?

Why do they call these snails mystery snails?

All I have to say this was some funny stuff. :)

Mystery snails have both a gill and a lung and use air bubbles to control some of their movement. I can't tell you why they're called mystery snails, as there seems to be so many explanations out there who knows what is accurate. It's a mystery! :)
