Hermaphrodite Guppy? (First Post)
While I'm still figuring out this interface as I just signed up for this forum, I was wondering if I have a hermaphrodite guppy? The attached image is it. It's not the clearest pic but it's the best I came up with after snapping several shots of the fast moving fish.
Welcome to TFK. :D
What a weird guppy. Are you sure he isn't bloated?
Thanks for the welcome!
This fish has fins and colors like a male but near the abdomen, there also seems to be a gravid spot. He could be bloated but I've got him recently from my LFS and he seems to be getting bigger each day and fast as compared to the other males in the tank which should have been eating the same amount.
Maybe you can start a strain of pretty female guppies? That'd be nice. :p
I'm no huge guppy fan so I don't know too much about them.
It'll make for a good hobby and I've already got a head start since the LFS keeps more colored females these days as I've seen a while back.
I think it's just a female... And pretty pregnant at that.
hello and welcome. :-D
Intersexuality occurs amongst every species on earth, so you never know. You may have an intersexed (hermaphrodite) guppy.
