30 Gallon Long Tank - Brackish - No Plants - T8 - Which bulb?
I have a 30 Gallon Long Tank. 36" Long x 12" Wide X 17" High.
No living plants, just artificial.
Brackish for a Figure Eight Puffer and some Bumblebee Gobies.
The light fixture is on the glass top sitting on directly on top of the tank.
Fits a single 24" T8 bulbs.
Which color temp/lumens/watt bulb should I get?
Shouldn't matter too much. You just dont want anything super bright though. Depending on where the tank is located, as far as the fish are concerned you may not need a light at all.
Agree. A daylight tube with a Kelvin of 6500K will provide true rendition of colours. It will be a standard brightness for the length, so not much you can do about that. Floating plants, real or artificial, are important. Puffers love planted tanks.
You will have algae with the light and no plants, but that doesn't matter as the algae will partially do what live plants would do in helping to keep the water better.
How did your brackish experiment work out?
