anyone watch the show "tanked"? i've been watching the show tanked on animal planet for quite some time now. and i've always wondered. how do they get away with not cycling a tank before they add fish? not so sure about a cycle process for saltwater but i've seen them add fish immediatley after filling the tank. is there a water they use or a something they put in the tank to cycle it right away? |
I watch that show and was wondering the same thing, I assume they use filters that have been previously seeded with bios. cool show though |
There is another thread on here covering the show. check that out, as it may answer some of those questions. |
They use a bacteria in a bottle product - I suspect Dr Tim's. They filmed adding it in one show. |

They have their own line of products under the company ATM. They use their bacteria in a bottle junk to cycle them. |

You knew it was coming, and here it is.... ATM from PETCO.com Very smart marketing and synergy by ATM (Tanked) and PetCo. It's not overpriced, so I'll likely try some of these products. http://i45.tinypic.com/2ptb9rb.jpg I just saw a new show called Fish Tank Kings on Nat Geo Wild. It's a Tanked rip-off, and a lot less interesting. Where Tanked is entertaining, Fish Tank Kings is very boring and dry. If you disliked Tanked, you will likely hate FTK. http://i50.tinypic.com/34zfwgk.jpg |
