I have a male guppy who has been acting strange, acting like a loner and not as active as it was.
Last night I noticed a white patch on the front of his head, see attached image.
I'm not sure if this is white spot or something else.
I have a 25l tank, the water is fine from tests. It has been run for three weeks now.
I originally had two guppies, but one passed away when I introduced three minnows to the tank. It died from what appeared to be shock. I got a new guppy to replace it.
I am not sure if this has stressed the remaining guppy out, hence the strange behaviour.
Any ideas please?
Cant tell for sure from the pic.. it looks likes something bit it. It could be a fungus as well... maybe an infection from an injury.
I've not seen the other Guppy or Minnows bother it, unless its happened when I have not been there of course.
I'm going to look at introducing another Guppy to see if that relieves the fish, by having another to take away the stress of just having the other guppy with it. Wise?
What kind of minnow did you add? White cloud minnow is the most common type sold as aquarium fish. They get fairly large and like to be in larger groups. It would not surprise me at all if they were your problem. I would recommend you get rid of them before adding more fish.
