Will the cichlid kill my snails becuase I have them together and they seem to be doing fine for now. I cant find anything else or think of any algea eating that the cichlids wont kill. I hear many differnt sides and I believe the snails would be ok becuase they have protection but I wanted others opinion.
Cichlids being, for the most part, both herbivorous, omnivorous, or meat eaters. may develope a taste for escargot when given the chance. I have never had good luck mixing the two.
I'm pretty sure the mystery snails can protect their mollusks with a "trapdoor". I could be wrong though. But on another note, I wouldn't risk it. Do you have another tank for the snails?
Well I want the snails to be in the tank because I need something to Eat algea and crud. But yeah they always go in there shell if cichlid trys to pick on them but I never see it happen.
