Leeches and Raccoons

I put in a little pond in my rocky yard last spring, 75 gallons or so, and a day before it froze over for winter a raccoon decided to come destroy it, (by pulling all the surrounding rocks into it,) and eat the 3 big, fat, goldfish I had decided to keep. (I had too many in it at first, they were feeder fish from petco and grew fast! ;p) I didn't mortar the rock work around it- so it's kind of my fault that I'm having to redo it. The temp. just started to get tolerable here, so I went to pull all the rocks out of it, and I found huge slug-like leeches stuck to them :/ They give me the creeps... Must have come with the plants? *shrugs*

My questions are: Is there a good scent deterrent for raccoons that has actually worked for someone? (I'm by the woods so live-traps wouldn't solve anything. I have a feeling there is an endless supply of raccoons back there) and what would be a good leech killer (If there is anything that is safe) that wouldn't affect the PH/etc.. plants, fish (if I decide to put more in) wild tree-frogs, and wild birds? :) If it helps, the leeches were gray-ish with orange-ish stripes on their sides. Thanks in advance

I actually put it in for the native frogs, so it really has to be safe for them

The smell of a good 'coon stew might work.

Seriously, I think you will have to raccoon proof your pond or just setup cameras and get some neat pics.

Mmmmm, with potatoes, onions, carrots and a big ole chunk of home made bread... Sounds good X)

I wish I was as good at catching pond fish as they are.
