Fish Fry Effects on Stocking Levels?
Hope someone can help on this...
I have a 160 gal. outdoor pond that is doing incredibly well. So much so that everything conceivable is shagging in it (snails, frogs, goldfish, algae eaters, etc.). I have already had a tadpole explosion (manually removed 1000s - only a hundred or so left, I think) and several rounds of hatched goldfish fry that have impacted the pond significantly.
Here is the question/problem at hand:I have about 25-inches of adult goldfish presently in the water and 8-12 fry in the half-inch to 1-inch range (that have survived the tadpole invasion). At what point do I need to be concerned about the stocking levels becoming a problem as the fry grow, as I do not want to lose any of my adult fish?
Thank you in advance for any advise.
