Yay I'm a mom again :D:D

I just thought I would mention that as of sunday I'm a mom... Again... Haha I had a dream I had baby rats EVERY WHERE so I woke up with the craziest need to get rats.. And I did. So here they are :) The lighter hooded rats name is Daisy Adare and the other one wearing the mask... Well I'm not sure of her name yet. I've been calling her 'Moot' 'Ratatron' and my favorite, Sparta. Because shes my warrior <3

haha, thanks! Sorry about the poor quality pictures, these girls do not sit still. It's been so long since I've had rats I forgot how small they are as babies lol I'm afraid of crushing them

I have a neighbor whose grandkids had two rats and they were HUGE! The neighbors were ratsitting and I walked into their house one day to let the dog out and I saw these things in a big cage and I thought, what is that? Then I got closer and one of them was looking at me, little whiskers twitching and I thought, holy cow! That is the BIGGEST rat I have ever seen in my life! My neighbor said they were very gentle and affectionate.

LOL! Your neighbor must have had males. Males get HUGE and smelly, lol but they are wayyy more likely to just sit in your lap and let you pet them. Personally I prefer females because they stay smaller, a rat I had a few years ago and she was one pound, according to my vet thats a good size. I can already tell that moots going to be fat. Rats are honestly one of the greatest pets, lol give one a try

Several years ago I had rats.
I started with one, Squeaker. (I suck at naming animals.) Then one day I realized rats are social animals and that she needed a friend. For some reason I can't remember her friend's name.

Then another day I had the crazy curiousity about baby rats. So I went out and got the stud -- Big Nuts. He was awesome. Squeaker was definitely a special rat... she was very smart... but Big Nuts was just really cool.

I would love to have a rat again.

LOL! Yeah rats are special pets, with too short of a life span. Lol Big Nuts sounds like a pretty chill rat.

I'm glad you realize rats need friends. I always get sad when I see neglected fat rats sitting all by their lonesome. It's so awesome having at least 2 rats, you get to see all the interaction and then when they accept you as a rat you get to interact with them. I actually used to sit down and like 'groom' my rat and she would be making her happy noises and groom me back. I love these two, they have such different personalties!! Daisy is good mannered and shy and Sparta is insane, twitchy and dominate.

I've heard that rats make great pets and are very social and that they need to be kept in pairs. My Mother would NEVER go for a rat in the house. Someone abandoned one last year at my Petsmart. One of the employees adopted it, though.

Man having an elephant would be wicked. He could give me a ride to work in exchange for fruit. And no one would mess with me because I have a 5 ton elephant on my side. Lol I've already thought about this clearly... I'm actually pretty sure I had a conversation like this two days ago but with a giraffe. About a giraffe... I wasn't talking to one...


Honestly, never once have I met someones parents who were like "yeah sure lets get a rat!" You just get them anyways and then the rents get mad and pretend they hate them. But slowly you start to notice things like bits of uneaten food you're pretty sure you didn't feed to them. Then you'll eventually catch your parents in the act of sneaking your rats treats and baby talking them. Seriously, it's happened to at least 5 of my friends and myself.
