Well, Nell was spayed last week, and ended up in emergency this last Tuesday due to severe infection. It had started on the inside, and I didn't notice til she started licking on Tuesday and it opened up and infection started spewing out of her stitches. It was really bad, and they had to keep her overnight, reopen the stitches, flush her out, and put her on antibiotics. She's home with me now, and has so much energy, lol. Supposed to keep her mellow for 7 days, which is hard to do. But all is much, much better now. I was real freaked when that all happened, lol.

im sorry to here what happened, but at least everything turned out ok :). our female staffie had a problem some years ago when her uterus swelled up as we hadnt spayed her and left her very ill, however she went for an operation :(, hehe im always in that place as my staffie is forever injuring herself and my stray has had some injuries and likes to escape sometimes. good luck with her :D

Nelly says hi and thanks.... ;)

She is doing very well now. Hard to keep her from too much activity. One trick is beef ribs, lol. I give all 3 dogs some ribs, and they are chewing on them all night long, lol.

Update.....

Nell is doing very well. She is so full of energy, and it's great to see. Took her to the vet tonight to get her stitches removed, and they said it all healed up very well, and that she has no more restrictions. I even asked them about jumping and water, and they said if I wanted to wait a few more days, it's up to me, but they said she's perfectly fine and can now get a bath if I want, and take her running. So that's good, but for my personal concience, I might wait a few more days for the high energy activities like frisbee, etc. And she's still pretty clean, so I don't need to bathe her just yet, so I'll wait a little on that as well. But anyways, the infection had really freaked me out, lol. It was pretty scary. But it also gives me some experience as well, now that I've gone through it all, I won't have to go blindly through the next time, if there is one.
