Normally, 10+ years
the oldest chinchilla ever in the U.S is 26
the oldest chinchilla ever in the U.K is 27
It's just like having a dog. :D

wow that is old, thats the problem there is alot of people that take on rodents and other small animals and expect them to live like a year or two :( . But your chinchilla looks good and really healthy. Good luck with him :D
